Beryl Nytilac~ Generation One ~Chapter One~Dance Club Disaster

I was awoken by the sound of Jason coming through the door. Jason was my best friend, roommate, and co-worker. We both work undercover for the SVPD. "Beryl! There was a package in the mail for you!" I quickly got up, put on my work uniform, and entered the kitchen.

Jason gently handed me the box. I shook the box around for a bit then opened it. In the box, there was a Masquerade mask, a invitation, and a letter. The letter said-

           Dear Beryl,
As you know, Mrs. Scarlet Parks, the movie star will be at
"The Prosper Room" tonight to celebrate the release of her new movie. Here
is a fake invitation for the celebration. I need you to attend
the party and then evacuate Mrs. Scarlet from the building.
There will be a murderer somewhere in the building, and I'm
not sure who it is, but he is plotting something bad. And
if you're wondering what the mask is for, you need to stay
incognito so nobody recognizes you. Scarlet's security will be on high alert. Good luck.

I put the letter back in the envelope. "Okay Jason, I will be going tonight, make sure you have your phone at all times, you will have to stay in the air vents to spy. Got it?" I asked. "Yes, ma'am." Jason answered. I then  walked out of the kitchen to find a dress to wear.

At around noon time, I went to the local cafe to get some information about the case, and who would be targeting Scarlet. I searched Google for a few minutes until I found the Facebook profile of a man who had been Scarlet's ex boyfriend. He had brown hair, hazel eyes, and looked around 6'2 in height. I wrote down all the information in my commonplace book. Since the celebration was in less than three hours. I quickly sipped the rest of my coffee and got
ready to leave. "Jason! Let's go!" I yelled across the cafe.

"Do I really have to, Beryl?! I need to finish my drink!" Jason responded.

"Yes, Jason! We have to leave now or we won't have another chance at this case." I answered in a strict voice.

"But the letter didn't ask me to help!" Jason answered.

Jason and I had finally arrived at the club. We swiftly walked to the Elevator, we really didn't need to be caught by guards. When we arrived on the 21st floor, there were 2 bouncers guarding the door.

"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Jason asked.

"Yes, if everything goes as planned, we will be fine." I answered.
"Okay then, well I hope you're okay out there. Good luck, call me if you need me." Jason said.

"Will do, now hurry up before the bouncers see you!" I whispered.
Jason ran back into the elevator so he could get into the air vents.

I gulped and then walked over to the bouncer.

"Invitation, please." The bouncer replied in a grumpy expression.

I handed him the invitation. He studied it very carefully which scared me. What if he found out that it was fake? "Hmm... you can go in." the bouncer said. I smiled slyly and walked in.

I looked around the huge crowd of people until I found Scarlet chatting with many other celebrities while sipping her martini. I walked over to her location silently and pulled her away from the crowd.

"Ugh! What do you want? I'm in the middle of a conversation!" Scarlet yelled.

"Scarlet, you have to get out of here right now. There is a killer in the building and he will strike anytime!" I pleaded.

"Nothing! And I mean nothing will make me leave! Not even a killer! Nobody would want to kill such a beautiful person like me!" Scarlet said while flipping her hair.

I grabbed her arm. "We have to go, now!" I yelled.

Suddenly, the lights went out, all I could here was screaming and a few gunshots. When the lights went back on, there was Scarlet's body, with blood pouring out of her still body. There were several gunshot wounds in her chest and stomach. Scarlet was dead.
